My Sunshine,
I think about you every day, and today, my heart is full of memories from when you were just a tiny baby. I want to tell you about our special mornings together—those quiet moments when the world was still waking up, and it was just you, me, and Papa.
Every morning, Papa would wake up to the sound of your soft cries coming from your crib. He would make you a warm bottle and bring you to me, placing you in my arms so I could feed you while he got ready for the day. Those moments were my favorite. As I held you close, feeling your tiny fingers curl against me, I would soak in the sweetness of our morning snuggles.
You had just started making little baby sounds, and oh, how we would “talk.” You would watch my mouth so intently, studying every movement as I spoke to you. Then, in the most precious way, you would coo back, as if you truly understood every word. We had our own little language, a secret world of love woven through our whispered conversations and quiet exchanges.
I have so many videos of those moments—your bright eyes, your tiny voice, the way you seemed to know we were sharing something special. I look at them often, with love and with hope. Hope that one day soon, we can pick up where we left off, cuddled close and chatting like we always did.
As you grew older, Papa would still bring you to bed with us in the mornings, and you would sleep a little longer as he got ready for the day. By the time he was done you’d be awake and then he would take you down to the kitchen, get your breakfast, and help you get dressed. I would come down and do your hair, and depending on the day, I’d either get to stay home with you—watching movies, coloring, reading, dancing—or I’d get you ready for preschool and take you there. Some mornings, before the day carried us in different directions, I would sing to you—your favorite was “Oh Mister Sun, Sun, Mister Golden Sun.” The way your face would light up, your giggles bubbling over with joy, made my heart feel like it could burst. Even now, just thinking of it, I can hear your laughter and feel the warmth of those precious moments all over again.
No matter where you are or how much time passes, know that my love for you is constant. You are in my heart, always. I hope that soon, we can bring these memories to life again—this time with your big girl voice, singing alongside me, filling the morning with laughter and love as we start our day together.
With all my love, Nana
