I heard something very special last night. Your cousin, who is only 4 but saw you this past weekend, told me you miss me. Hearing that made my heart ache and smile all at once. I know you miss me, sweet girl, and I want you to know that I miss you too, every single day.

There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about you, wish I could hug you, and hear your laugh. You are such a bright, kind, and wonderful girl. None of this grown-up stuff is your fault, and I wish things were easier for you.
